POKER RUN PLAYS FINAL HAND
Last Call to Enter Lanier Harbor Marina Poker Run
Over $350,000 in Prize Opportunities at August Event
Lake Lanier Islands, GA - - With the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Lanier Harbor Marina Poker Run just around the corner, it's last call for entries, especially if boaters want to play a final hand that could just garnish them a $10,000 cash prize, and more.
The event begins its early registration on Thursday, August 7th, 2003 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and will continue on Friday, August 8th. The Poker Run will be held on Saturday, and boasts a $10,000 Cash Prize to the best Poker Hand of the day. All boats that starts the event, to benefit the Forsyth County Child Advocacy Center and the North Alabama and Georgia Make-A-Wish® Foundation, will get a chance to win a Yamaha Wave Runner, courtesy of Park Marine.
There will also be first, second and third place trophies for Go Fast Boat, Pontoon and Cruiser categories, with a Grand Prize Formula FasTec powerboat for a winning five of a kind poker hand.

On Friday, events at Lanier Harbor Marina include the Sea Quest Kids™ Program, a safety course and boat building experience provided to kids from the Forsyth County Child Advocacy Center, and a Joker's Wild Party, where the public can see boats up close and talk to the racers that compete. The Child SMILE America Tour, with offshore racer Andrew Moon, will provide powerboat rides for the North Alabama and Georgia Make-A-Wish® Foundation kids, as well.
That evening, there will be a Las Vegas Style Casino Gaming Party at Emerald Pointe Resort, with an opportunity to win 2004 GMC Yukon XL, and a 2004 Pontiac Gran Prix, courtesy of John Bailey Buick GMC, as well as a bevy of other prizes. The public is invited to attend and tickets, which include a cash bar with appetizer buffet, are $25.
On Saturday, Poker Run entrants will travel Lake Lanier to pick up their clues and cards, in anticipation of coming in with the best Poker Hand, and in hopes of winning that $10,000.00 first place prize. Entry, at $150, includes the Casino Night Party, Poker Run registration, plus tickets to the Awards Banquet that night. There will also be a randomly drawn hand that evening, which, if it matches any hand turned in during the day's events, will award the recipient $25,000.00 Cash, also courtesy of John Bailey Buick GMC. The total prize opportunities for the weekend exceed $350,000.
The Lanier Harbor Marina Poker Run, which has a limit this year of 200 boats, is presented by Mercury Marine, Formula Powerboats, Tal Marine, Park Marine and Yamaha Watercraft, John Bailey Buick GMC, and Billy Howell Ford.
